Here’s what guests and listeners are saying about TALK
OF THE TOWN WITH TRACY LUNDEEN
“Talk
of the Town is an exciting program with an energetic,
intelligent host. Tracy Lundeen does an excellent
job in covering topics of interest to Northland
listeners. His background, his extensive
involvement in the community, and his grasp of the
issues make the conversations he has with his guests
both interesting and informative.”
Andy Lisak, Executive Director The Development
Association, Inc. Superior, WI"
Tracy
brings good humor, insight, and a love for our city to
the airwaves. Talk of the Town gives an insider's
perspective on the issues and activities in Duluth that
matter most."
Don Ness, Mayor, City of Duluth
"I have had
the opportunity to be a guest on Talk of the Town and
found it to be a very pleasurable experience. The
time format allows for a relaxed open discussion with
the host, Tracy Lundeen. Tracy has the ability
to discuss a wide range of subjects while always
maintaining good taste and a friendly decorum - even in
controversy. I enjoy listening to this show
because of the open perspectives given both by the host
and the guest!"
Mike Lundstrom Executive Director-Hermantown Area
Chamber of Commerce
"Tracy's show
is a throwback to good down-home radio. From
politicians to the business community to local
non-profits, he gives everybody airtime. He
doesn't have a hidden agenda, he just gets a positive
message out every showand our community needs that."
Corey Carter former Program Director Mix 108 - KBMX-FM
ESPN Radio 560 - WEBC-AM"
Being
interviewed by Tracy was a painless experience. He has a
way of making guests comfortable and asks good questions
to keep the conversation going. Maybe that's the point.
It's a conversation with Tracy ... not an interview.
Tim Wigchers former Senior District Manager Junior
Achievement of the Upper Midwest
"Tracy has
the ability in an interview to set you at ease, as if
you were an old friend from the get-go. (And while that
may be the case in our circumstance, it is also one of
his strengths.) He asks good questions with good
humor, where appropriate, and you leave feeling you have
accomplished the task of getting your information out in
a positive fashion that others will listen to. It
is a good investment of time for both the guest and the
listening audience."
Gail H. Walkowiak Special Events Coordinator
City of Duluth - Parks & Recreation Division
I enjoyed my
time with Tracy on Talk of The Town. A very fun
experience to be sure. He can be very light hearted and
at the same time very provocative. Tracy knows what's
going on in our community and can pull the unrehearsed
comments from his guests very shrewdly. TOTT is a very
informative show for its listeners."
Charlie Bell-Duluth Business and Civic Leader
I enjoyed my
visit on the show. Tracy created an environment
where one could freely express their opinions and
concerns. I look forward to my next visit.
Garry Krause-Duluth City Councilor
"Talk of the
Town" was great exposure for our museum-a little tug on
the ear that helps us remind folks about our local
attractions."
Bob Fuhrman-Executive Director Richard I. Bong Veterans
Historical Center
Tracy
Lundeen is one talk show host who's clearly done his
homework. He knows how to draw from his guests
relevant questions for his audience and get to the heart
of today's issues. I look forward to being a guest
again on Talk of the Town.
Dorothy Fleming Deputy Chair Republican Party of
Minnesota
“Mr. Lundeen
communicates a wealth of experience and insight.
You can count on him voicing things the way he sees
them. Positive and informative, I always look
forward to working with Tracy and his show.”
Terry MattsonPresident/CEO Visit Duluth
It was a
pleasure to be on Tracy Lundeen's "Talk of the Town"
show. While we may not politically agree on every
issue, tracy treats his guests with respect and
encourages them to express their opinions in a
meaningful way. In addition, Tracy is an
optimistic and enthusiastic cheerleader for our
community. In a time when negativity dominates
every news cycle, and is the tool most talk show hosts
use to engage their audiences, I find that incredibly
refreshing. I hope Tracy asks me to be a guest
again."
Roger Reinert- District 7B State Legislature
I have
listened to Tracy on the radio for years. I have always
appreciated his common sense, respectful and
entertaining perspective on local and national issues. I
am usually a public radio person but I will change the
dial to listen to Tracy talk about issues facing the
city council that I will voting on. Tracy is a gentlemen
on and off the radio. He has the unique skill of being
able to take a position on a controversial issue while
respecting the opposite position on the other side of
the issue. This approach always advances the discussion
which makes Duluth a better place to live. That is why I
am one of Tracy's biggest fans.
Greg Gilbert, Duluth Attorney and City Councilor
My favorite
part about Talk of the Town is that those who call in
can't just complain about something unless they follow
it with a solution or idea to solve the issue. The
topics are not always from the same people about the
same old things. They are a lot of different people who
are working to bring better things to Duluth and keep
Duluth the great city it is.
RaeAnn Hamlin, Duluth Small Business Owner and one of
the “20 under 40”
I enjoyed the
experience of being interviewed on Talk of the Town.
I was treated with respect from the time I entered the
building until the time I departed. You personally
showed great interest in my area of expertise and
interest; Woodland Hills and at-risk youth. You
asked good questions which allowed me to expound on my
agency. You did not throw any curve ball questions
or make negative comments. You were very positive
and displayed a good sense of humor. In the
aftermath, I heard from several people who listened to
the show and the feedback was very positive.
Finally, I was offered a good cup of coffee prior to the
interview. Thanks for having me on the show!
Richard Quigley CEO Woodland Hills
“Tracy’s
program gets people in our community the opportunity to
expand on topics that are important to our future.”
“Talk of the Town is informative and offers an
opportunity to more fully discuss topics of interest in
our community.”
Elaine Hansen, Director
UMD Center for Economic Development
Tracy is an
upbeat, unabashed supporter of the Twin Ports. So much
of talk radio is nothing more than a bunch people
rattling on about trivial matters. It’s refreshing the
way Tracy engages people who are actually making a
difference in the community. And personally, I’m glad we
have Tracy’s voice to help reinforce the importance of
arts and entertainment in the community. Quality of
place is a key factor when people are deciding where to
live and work.
